FMV adds Napa estate Rudd

Fields, Morris & Verdin (FMV) has expanded its Napa Valley portfolio with the family-owned and run Rudd Oakville Estate.

The first to wines to join FMV's portfolio from the producer are Rudd Oakville Estate Red (rrp: £250) and Rudd Oakville Estate Samantha’s Cabernet Sauvignon  (rrp: £175.00), with further wines poised to be added in due course.

Since founded in 1996 by husband and wife team Leslie and Susan Rudd, the producer has focused on organic viticulture.

The duo’s daughter Samantha Rudd works alongside winemaker Frederick Ammons but spent several years working outside of the family business learning from high profile names, including Château Margaux and Spottswoode.

Having recently visited Rudd Oakville Estate, FMV was convinced by its wine’s ”innate quality” and how its overall philosophy was so “well-suited to our portfolio”, said USA wine buyer Fiona Hayes.

“We are delighted to start the year by introducing our partnership with such a high-quality grower and are glad to be welcoming Rudd Estate into our increasingly sought-after North American range.”

Oscar Henquet, managing director at Rudd Oakville Estate said: “Our new partnership with Fields, Morris & Verdin is an incredible and exciting opportunity. This relationship is the result of an aligned vision between our companies and we are looking forward to sharing the Rudd Estate wines and story with the UK market.”
