Peter Lehmann winemaker named Dux of the 2018 Len Evans Tutorial
Tim Dolan, senior winemaker for Peter Lehmann Wines, has been named Dux of the 2018 Len Evans Tutorial.
The Tutorial is named after Len Evans OBE, a champion of Australian wine. Each year the Len Evans Tutorial selects 12 of Australia’s wine industry’s most promising and talented professionals from a pool of 100 to develop their knowledge and skills under the guidance of leading wine experts.
A third generation Barossan winemaker and senior winemaker at Peter Lehmann Wines for the past six years, Mr Dolan said he was honoured to be invited to take part as it is something he has always dreamed of completing.
“I’ve applied for the past three years, so to be part of the 2018 Len Evans Tutorial was a dream come true; an unbelievable and surreal experience,” he said. “What Len Evans created with his Tutorial is one of the Australian wine industry’s greatest treasures and I’m so appreciative to have had the opportunity to complete the program.”
He added the “new knowledge and skills I’ve acquired through the Tutorial is also invaluable to my role at Peter Lehmann Wines as our winemaking team evolve the distinct Barossan style of wine to suit today’s landscape, while still maintaining the consistency and quality that was first established by Peter Lehmann himself some 40 years ago.”
