Martell is the official sponsor of Amlie, Jean-Pierre Jeunet's comedy about a young French girl who is brought up in suburban France by her overprotective parents. When her mother is killed in a collision with a falling, suicidal tourist, Amlie is left with her father and begins to develop her own secret fantasy. To coincide with its release today (5 October), Martell, the UK's number one Cognac, has created a sparkling cocktail called the "Amlie Effect", made with Martell, Champagne and Apricot liqueur. Throughout the opening week, selected UGC cinemas will be serving free Amlie cocktails.
