An eco-friendly acorn

Acorn House will be opening its doors to the public on 14 November and claims to be London's first truly eco-friendly training restaurant'.

Purpose-built to maximise natural light, the restaurant will purify its water on site and use green electricity' and biodegradable products where possible.

All kitchen waste will be recycled and the menus will be dedicated to healthy eating. Acorn House will also provide eco-friendly training to 10 adults in the local restaurant industry.

The Shoreditch Trust, Terrence Higgins Trust and Bliss Restaurant Consultancy are behind the idea and a substantial amount of profit' will be donated to charity.
