NZ producer has world's first carbon-neutral winery

Published:  23 July, 2008

New Zealand winery Grove Mill is the first in the world to go carbon neutral.

The producer offsets 312 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, meaning that no net carbon dioxide emissions enter the atmosphere through the growing, production or shipping of its wines.

The first wine released in the UK is its 2006 Sauvignon Blanc, which sports a CarboNZero' neck tag.

Rob White, CEO of Grove Mill, said: Becoming carbon neutral now places us at the cutting edge of global sustainability.'
