C&C to stay in test markets after tough summer

Published:  23 July, 2008

C&C Group, which owns Magners cider, plans to stay in its key test markets of Europe - Barcelona and Munich - despite seeing sales drop in the UK this summer, according to market analysts.

Rumours had emerged that C&C, which publishes its half-year results on Wednesday, would pull out of Munich after the disappointing performance of Magners in the UK.

But according to one source, the company sees Britain as its "critical focus", and will continue to track the performance of Magners in the two cities.
