Published:  23 July, 2008

George Musgrave, the owner of Polmassick Vineyard in St Ewe, Cornwall, has died in a tragic accident.

The 66-year-old wine producer was killed when half a tonne of empty wine bottles fell on him at his winery.

His wife Barbara, 62, said he was standing at the back of the lorry when a pallet of bottles fell but was unable to get out of the way quickly enough.

He was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital but later died from his injuries.

George Musgrave took over Polmassick Vineyard in 1986. He is survived by his wife and two children.

He will be greatly missed by all.
