TAYLOR'S CHANGES NAME TO FLADGATE

Published:  23 July, 2008

The Taylor Fonseca Group has changed its corporate name to The Fladgate Partnership, following the purchase of Croft and Delaforce Ports from Diageo. Chairman Alistair Robertson said: It is appropriate that the recent additions to our portfolio should be complemented by a corporate name to reflect the new, larger group. John Fladgate, Baron of Roda, was chosen as the historical link.' Croft and Taylor were linked to the Quinta da Roda estate, which was owned for many years by Fladgate, an original partner in Taylor, Fladgate and Yeatman. He had four daughters, one of whom married Charles Wright of Croft & Co (with the marriage came Quinta da Roda as part of the dowry). Another married into the Guimaraens family, who were at that time the owners of Fonseca.
