A joint venture between a US online retailer and a French wine producer involving a "virtual" wine tasting on Twitter has become so successful that they are rolling the venture out on a monthly basis.

Retailer Bin End Wines and producer Hugel & Fils will stage their third virtual tasting on September 18. Groups of experienced wine bloggers from three locations; the UK, Spain and the US will taste a selection of wines from Hugel's range and post their conversations on the site, which Twitter users can log into, follow and add their comments to.

The 'tasting' will feature four wines from the Sonoma winery Michel-Schlumberger; the Chardonnay "La Brume" 2006, Syrah 2005, Merlot 2004 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2004.

The Twitter tastings have been held twice before. Those interested in taking part should visit http://twittertastelive.com.
