TFWA becomes platform for world firsts and exclusives

Cognac Frapin is using the event to showcase what it claims to be the world's first multi vintage - Le Multimillesime is made up of three vintages from the 1980s and will retail at 150 a bottle.

Irish brand Bunratty Winery is making its Cannes debut with medium sweet wine Bunratty Mead and Bunratty Potcheen - which the company claims to be the first legally produced moonshine in Ireland.

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Europe is launching its Havana Club Maximo Extra Anejo rum to the travel-retail market for the first time - the brand has previously only been available in domestic markets.

Meanwhile Maxxium Global Travel Retail has also unveiled three new Piper-Heidsieck cuvees to its range; a Piper-Heidsieck Rare Vintage 1999, 1988 and 1979.

More than 100 wine and spirits companies are showcasing products at this year's event, which also plays host to brands in the fragrance, fashion, tobacco and luxury brands sectors.

Drinks makes up the second largest category on show at the event - accounting for 24% of the products on display behind fragrances and cosmetics (26%).
