Corona Extra has announced details of a major pre-Christmas promotional drive in Leeds and Birmingham.

Corona Extra has announced details of a major pre-Christmas promotional drive in Leeds and Birmingham.

Working in partnership with distributors Wells and Young's, more than 60 events have been planned to take place across both cities, as part of the brand's 'Corona Week' initiative.

In Leeds this week around 35 top bars, clubs and restaurants are taking part to increase footfall and brand awareness, while 'Corona Week' in Birmingham, which starts on December 1, will be centred around 25 main venues.

Corona Extra is supporting the initiative in each location with its fleet of liveried vehicles, inflatable 'walking bottles', branded giveaways, hostesses and dancers.

There will be giant six and ten-metre illuminated bottles of Corona Extra positioned in highly visible locations in both cities, along with flyers, posters and teams of Corona Extra promoters.

The campaign will also include a 'restaurant of the day' initiative, offering special offers or gifts with every purchase.

Angel Garcia Gomez, head of Corona Extra in the UK, said: "Our aim is to raise awareness among consumers with a dynamic and fun campaign that emphasises all that Corona Extra is about.

"A lot of thought and planning has gone into this and we are delighted to be working with so many top outlets across both cities."

Corona Week has proved a success already this year in London, Glasgow, Bristol and Edinburgh - with further dates and venues due to be added in the New Year.

The 'Corona Week' events in Birmingham and Leeds follow Corona Extra's £1 million national advertising campaign earlier this year.

The brand is also currently sponsoring a number of events by club giant Ministry of Sound, and next week will sponsor a major film festival.
