The CIVB (Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux) has welcomed Jean-Louis Trocard as its new president. He takes over from Eric Dulong, who becomes the organisation's secretary general. Trocard is a wine grower in Lussac-St Emilion, Lalande de Pomerol, Pomerol and St Emilion Grand Cru. He has been president of the Syndicat Rgional des Appellations Bordeaux et Bordeaux Suprieur and was CIVB president from 19982000. The CIVB is to increase members' fees by 25% next year, 20% in 2004 and 15% in 2005 and 2006, to enable the bureau to 'increase its resources and better position its wines in a competitive international market'. *The CIVB has appointed Peretti Communications as its new PR company (tel: 020 7915 4755).
