Drinkaware embarks on adult awareness campaign

Published:  01 May, 2009

Drinkaware has hired an adult strategy manager to develop campaigns aimed at improving alcohol awareness among over-25s.

Eleanor McDonald has joined the organisation from Parentline Plus and also has experience with Keep Britain Tidy.

She will work on campaigns around the proper use of alcohol and government consumption guidelines.

McDonald said: "With over 7 million adults in the UK drinking above the recommended guidelines, the challenge is to come up with campaigns that communicate with people in a way that is engaging but pitched at the right level."

Siobhan McCann has joined Drinkaware as communications manager, having previously worked for Help the Aged.

Drinkaware has also appointed a PR agency and web design company to handle a £1 million brief to position the organisation as the most trusted source of information on alcohol.
