Police appeal over stolen Grant's

Published:  19 February, 2010

Police have appealed for the public to contact them if they are offered suspicious sales of whisky, following a theft from a Scottish depot last week.

Two trailer loads of more than £100,000 worth of Grant's blended whisky, were taken from the Currie Group Yard at Heathhall, at around midnight on February 10.

The tractor units; one a white Scania and a blue Daf, were found abandoned 30 miles apart in Wigan and Widnes six hours later.

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said: "If anybody saw the trailers in either areas or are offered Grant's whisky for sale that they think might be suspicious, we would be glad if they contacted us."

Contact 0845 600 5701 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
