Lagnado to head Bacardi marketing

Bacardi has hired the woman who masterminded the Campaign for Real Beauty for Dove soap as its new global marketing boss.

Silvia Lagnado will join Bacardi in September after a 24-year career at Dove firm Unilever where she was most recently executive vice president for savoury products, including Knorr.

She will be based in London as chief marketing officer for Bacardi and president of Bacardi Global Brands.

Bacardi president Seamus McBride described Lagnado as having "inspirational leadership in international consumer brand marketing".

Lagnado replaces Stella David who left Bacardi almost a year ago to become chief executive of William Grant.
