Wine train rolls on

Published:  28 July, 2010

A leading drinks industry shipper is set to launch a new 'wine train' service in south-west England.

Following on from J F Hillebrand's first Wine Train from Tilbury to Daventry, further routes are now being considered.

Managing director David Mawer said: "Based on the success of the first train, we are currently looking to launch further rail services based on container trains to serve this market. We are serving the Bristol area from Tilbury, Thamesport and Felixstowe ports."

The Wine Train aims to avoid congestion at port and costly delays on motorways. It also helps to reduce carbon emissions.
