González Byass to hold 'Showcase Tasting'

Published:  10 August, 2010

González Byass is to hold a trade tasting to showcase its entire range of wines, sherries and brandies in celebration of the company's 175th anniversary.

Its first Showcase Tasting that will take place on September 29, will promote producers from Spain's top wine regions and from the company's recently acquired agencies.

On hand to welcome guests and explain new developments in the business will be fifth generation family members including chairman Mauricio González-Gordon, deputy chairman & executive director Pedro Rebuelta and chief executive officer Jorge Grosse.

A number of winemakers will also be there to discuss the wines in their area and to introduce brief seminars, such as the technical aspects of 'flor' on the production of Fino Sherry, producing high quality wines from port grapes in the Douro Valley, and creating the 'Beronia style' of Rioja.

Martin Skelton, managing director of González Byass UK, said: "This first Showcase Tasting is a great opportunity for González Byass to share its wines with new and existing customers, wine writers and other interested trade guests."
