Disaronno Mixing Star London finalists announced

The Disaronno Mixing Star competition has announced its two London finalists as Matthew Dakers from London's Trailer Happiness and Boris Ivan from Hush, Mayfair.

The competition, which is in its first year, required entrants to prove their creativity and skill by creating the best Disaronno cocktail.

The event was filmed over October 4 and 5 and judged by a panel of industry experts.

The overall European winner, to be decided in November, will win a trip to Los Angeles to visit a Hollywood film studio to act as a star bartender in a movie and will be included in the Disaronno cocktail guide, The Mixing Star Hall of Fame, to be published in 2011.

On of the winners, Boris Ivan said: "I'm really pleased to win today's heat and had a really good time participating.

"Today was not just about competing in the challenge, it was about meeting other people in the trade and showing myself what I could achieve."

The next leg of the UK castings will be held in Manchester on October 25, and the European finals will be held in London on November 16.
