George Bagos of Kitchen bar, Chalandri, Greece has been crowned winnner of the Disaronno Mixing Star of 2010.

The third and final round of the international contest was held at Pearl Restaurant and Bar and featured nine finalists from the UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Greece and Russia.

The winner was declared by a panel of industry professionals including Harpers' features editor, Laura Clark and led by the renowned international mixologist Dom Costa.

The UK came up trumps in the competition with Matt Dakers of Mahiki taking the runner up spot and Boris Ivan of Hush in West London coming in third.

Mark Collins, senior brand manager for Disaronno, said: "This is the first year we have held the Disaronno Mixing Star competition and it has proved a huge success. We are thrilled with the enthusiasm with which bartenders have embraced the competition and the extremely high standard of serves exhibited throughout all the castings."

As well as taking the title, Bagos has won a trip to Los Angeles and will also be included in the Disaronno Cocktail Guide 'The Mixing Star Hall of Fame', an international cocktail guide to be published in 2011 with a collection of the best cocktails from the competition.
