Published:  09 December, 2010

Australia's First Families of Wine (AFFW) has launched its second year of UK activity.

It will be headed by new chairman Ross Brown, proprietor and third generation
winemaker from Brown Brothers who will be taking over from Alister Purbrick of Tahbilk winery.

Year two will incorporate several new initiatives and activities for AFFW and continue to highlight the First Families message of wine heritage and quality.

It will also work with national retailers, including retail partner Majestic Wines, and regional wholesalers to run retail promotions and customer tastings throughout 2011, as well as trade tastings at the LIWF and a press lunch.

Brown said, "We've had a busy first year with some great achievements. Our plan for the year ahead is to continue telling the AFFW stories of quality, regionality, diversity and character by launching into other key international markets. There are exciting times ahead."

AFFW consists of a collective of twelve of Australia's multigenerational, quality focussed winemaking families: Brown Brothers, Campbell's, d'Arenberg, De Bortoli, Henschke, Howard Park, Jim Barry, McWilliam's, Tahbilk, Wakefield, Tyrrell's, Yalumba
