Slurp abandons minimum order to launch 'Slurp Singles'

Published:  07 March, 2011 has abandoned its minimum order restrictions on the Slurp Express catalogue, allowing customers to purchase single bottles of wine for next day delivery at no extra cost.

Around 1,300 wines and spirits are now available in 'Slurp Singles', which aims to transform the way a new generation of wine drinkers purchase and enjoy wine.

Executive chairman, Jeremy Howard, said:  "If you buy books or DVDs online you are not expected to buy six as a minimum so why should that be the case with wine?

He added that Slurp Singles underlines's commitment to bringing innovation in wine retailing, following the recent launch of tools such as Slurp Chat and its online sommelier.

Slurp Express launched in February 2010 and features nearly 1300 Champagnes, wines and spirits with prices starting from £5 a bottle - they are now all available in 'Slurp Singles'.
