The Champagne Bureau has called for entries from wine educators for the annual Champagne Ambassador's award ? this year entrants must demonstrate how they teach students about blending.

Entrants must explain how they would teach  students about the nuances of expression between chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier with reference to crus and years.

The competition is open to all wine educators (teachers, stewards, oenologists and wine aficionados) who share their knowledge in a school, club or association, on a freelance basis, or by lecturing.

The UK final will take place at The Dorchester Hotel in London, and the winner gets a trip to Champagne, including visits to producers. The UK winner will then compete in the European final, followed by a gala dinner where the winner of the European Champagne Ambassador's Award will be announced.

Educators from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland. Participants can choose to present in the language of their choice.

The closing date is July 5. For further details please contact John Franklin or Sophie Hudson at The Champagne Bureau on 0207 244 1955.
