The trade has been urged to take care when buying M.Chapoutier wines after stock was stolen en route to Cert Octavian’s Hoddesdon warehouse last week.

Mentzendorff has warned the trade to beware of purchasing wine from unusual sources after various Chapoutier Rhône wines (red & white); Domaine de Bila Haut Roussillon wines (red & white); wines from Michel Chapoutier’s new ventures in Alsace (Schieferkopf) and Australia (Domaine Tournon) plus a quantity of single vineyard Selection Parcellaire Rhône wines from the 2008 vintage, were stolen last week. The delivery was coming from France when the theft occurred on UK soil on the way to the Hoddesdon depot.

The wines were packed in wooden cases.

Mentzendorff’s finance director Andy Smith has asked the trade to call 020-7840-3600 if approached or if you have any information on the theft of these wines, which is currently under police investigation.
