The winners will be announced at a special awards night to be held at London's Honourable Artillery Company on the Tuesday of the London International Wine Fair, May 22.
The Harpers Awards is the first time in Harpers Wine & Spirit's near 130-year history it has looked to bring the entire wine and spirits industry together for one event to highlight and celebrate the very best the trade has to offer.
What better opportunity to showcase to your peers, suppliers and competition the kind of business you are than by making sure you are part of this inaugural awards, being run in conjunction with the LIWF.
James Murray, LIWF event director said of the Harpers Awards: "LIWF aims to be the most innovative, relevant and professional trade event serving the international wine industry. We are therefore delighted to collaborate with Harpers on this exciting new venture."
To help as many businesses get the recognition they deserve the Harpers Awards has been separated in to three separate areas each highlighting excellence in different parts of the trade. They include:
At Your Service Awards
These awards follow on from the Drinking Out Excellence Awards (Does), which we have held over the last three years. We have now brought them in to the main Harpers Awards event to pay tribute to the professionalism and highest standards in the UK on-trade. These awards will be judged differently from the other categories in that we are not inviting outlets to nominate they but an expert panel from will draw up our shortlists and winners across the on-trade.
Top Merchant Awards
These set of awards bring the Top Merchant Awards launched in 2011 in to the main Harpers Awards event to again give a bigger platform and wider recognition to the excellence within our independent merchant sector. Please note the Top Merchant awards look to recognise those merchants that operate a high street retail operation as the main part of their business.
Merchants that do not quality for these awards are encouraged to look at relevant categories as part of our Industry Awards section.
Top Merchants are invited to nominate themselves and separate independent judging panels will select shortlists and winners.
Industry Awards
These awards, where relevant, are open to all sectors of the trade, be it producers, suppliers and the on and off-trades. Again we invite interested businesses to nominate they based on the category criteria and shortlists and winners will be decided by a series of independent expert panels.
When
The ceremony will take place at the Honourable Artillery Company, London, on the first night of LIWF on May 22, 2012.
