Full list of Harpers Awards finalists revealed

The full list of finalists for next week's inaugural Harpers Awards can now be revealed.

 

The event, being held in conjunction with the London International Wine Fair, takes place on the first night of next week's show at at London's Honourable Artillery Company on May 22.

 

The awards cover both the independent and multiple on and off-trades and include industry categories for major wine and spirits suppliers and distributors.

 

Finalists in the Top Merchants and Industry sections of the awards have been judged by panels of specialists judges, whilst the on-trade, At Your Service, awards have been selected by the votes of an academy of judges made of restaurant critics, consultants, sommeliers and on-trade suppliers.

 

In the running for the Best Top Merchant of the Year categories include Barrica Wines, Dalling & Co, The Sampler and Vagabond Wines in the up to three stores category, whilst Adnams, Cambridge Wine Merchants, and Tanners Wine Merchants will battle it out for the three stores or more award.

 

Alliance, Boutinot, Hatch Mansfield, Liberty Wines and World Wine Agencies are all in the running for the coveted Best Distributor/Supplier to Independents award.

 

The finalists in the Best Multiple/ Specialist Drinks Retailer of the Year include Majestic, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Waitrose. Bibendum, Enotria and Hatch Mansfield are vying for Best Overall Agent/ Distributor of Year World.

 

The Best Drinks Offer in a Restaurant is between 18-30 Wine Workshop and Kitchen, Dabbous and Pollen Street Social whilst Jose Pizzaro, Jack Lewens (Quo Vadis and Hart Group) and Charlie Young (Vinoteca) are up for On-trade Personality of the Year.
