The Mumm de Cramant was first created in 1882 when the Pinot Noir-driven producer acquired a vineyard in the Côte des Blancs. Originally the wine was not sold commercially but reserved for family, with each bottle being hand-delivered, with a specially folded card. The label of the new GH Mumm Blanc de Blancs features this folded card detail. All the grapes come from a single vintage, but the Blanc de Blancs is classed as a non-vintage as it is aged for only a short time on the lees, to accentuate the, citrus flavours of the Cramant Chardonnay.

GH Mumm is celebrating 130 years of Cramant with the launch of its Blanc de Blancs, which replaces Mumm de Cramant.
