Scotch whisky producer Isle of Arran Distillers is switching UK distribution from Blavod to Indie Brands from the beginning of August.

Indie Brands, run by Chris Bowen and Douglas Cunningham, was launched earlier in the year as a specialist spirits distribution company that aims to fill a gap in the luxury brands arena, and will be tasked with developing the Isle of Arran brand in both the on and off-trade markets.

Euan Mitchell, managing director of Isle of Arran Distillers, said: "Indie Brands is a new business that is looking to make progress. It shares our ambitions for the Arran malt, and Chris and Douglas are a great fit for our business. This is an exciting development for Arran."

Douglas Cunningham, managing director of Indie Brands, said: "I'm delighted that Arran Whisky has entrusted us to help build the success of its brand. The quality of the spirit is outstanding, the international reputation and credentials established and so there is very considerable potential. We are excited to get started."
