Julian Dyer to head up Australian Vintage in Europe

Wine producer Australian Vintage, (AVL) has confirmed its interim general manager UK & Europe, Julian Dyer has been appointed to the role on a permanent basis.

 

 

 

Dyer, who joined the AVL team in early 2012, after 16 years as a Sainsbury’s buyer has over 20 years of industry experience and expertise and will begin the new role with immediate effect.

 

 

He will be responsible for the strategic development and growth of the company's branded portfolio, maintaining and developing existing trading partners whilst also executing AVL's cross-channel strategy in the UK, and driving increased market share in Europe.

 

 

 

The appointment follows the recent release of AVL's annual results which showed total sales up 2.1% to $228M, with a strong performance in the UK and Europe where sales value increased by 1% year-on-year and net profit was 32% in growth.

 

 

Australian Vintage chief executive officer, Neil McGuigan said: "He has a wealth of expertise and knowledge, and his understanding of wine and the wine business will be a great asset to our company. His skill set, insight and industry standing will play a vital role in continuing to grow and evolve our business to meet the ever changing demands of our consumers.

 

 

He added: "Julian's drive, passion and commitment is clear for all to see."

 

 

Dyer, said: "This is an exciting growth phase for AVL, and I look forward to working closely with the well-established UK team to deliver, and exceed, our business and brand objectives."
