The Social Media Week, between September 24-28, will include a session from Jayne Powell, aka Champagne Jayne, entitled "Champagne - a social community uncorked" including a live-streamed Champagne social media masterclass with live talks direct from producers and Champagne houses.
Champagne Jayne told Harpers: "Social media has changed the way we communicate forever, but this tidal wave of peer-to-peer social networks and the bionic growth of real-time technologies like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter has also re- ignited the power of 'community' and collaboration. The power of social media is therefore sustained conversations that shape perceptions - which is where the ultimate icebreaker champagne pops up."
The session is a precursor to the third Global Champagne Day taking place on October 28 which for the first time is looking to involve the UK trade with tastings and promotions in both the on and off-trades, following its success in the US and Australia in its first two years.
