Harpers is offering one lucky reader a case of 12 wines, personally selected by the Harpers and IWC teams from a line-up of more than 150 at the Absolutely Cracking French Wines tasting, organised by Sopexa.
Showcasing wines available in the UK, it featured 156 wines chosen by top British writers.
After much deliberation, the final Harpers' selection covers a multitude of regions, price points and styles, designed to be the perfect accompaniment to a cracking Christmas.
MW student and IWC commercial manager Ray O'Connor, who was part of the Harpers' selection team, said: "This was a real treat of a tasting showcasing the best expressions of variety and regional characteristics in just about all of the wines.
"Both white and red Bordeaux were showing wonderfully and it will be hard to beat the value for money in the Le G de Guiraud Bordeaux. At £9.99 this white wine shows incredible quality.
"The north Rhone in particular was singing - root day or not. Beautiful expressions of Syrah were found in Hervé Souhaut, Sainte Epine 2011 - an intense and pleasurable Saint Joseph. Domaine du Monteillet Fortis 2008, Côte Rôtie, was equally delicious though slightly more subtle."
To get your hands on this case, answer the following question:
As the crow flies, what's the nearest French wine appellation to where French president François Hollande was born?
