ProWein is ramping up its programme of seminars on offer for its 2013 event to be hosted at a central lecture forum.
The Düsseldorf event, which takes place from March 24 to 26, will see over 4,000 exhibitors from around 50 countries take place across and the newly-expanded nine halls.
The ProWein Forum will offer a range of seminars, while international grape varieties will be showcased at the Central Tasting Zone while the FIZZZ-Lounge will turn the spotlight on to cocktails.
The Forum, in hall 7.1, will allow exhibitors to hold seminars and tasting sessions to start on the hour. These events, which have capacity for 50 people, will be accessible free-of-charge for trade visitors. A timetable will be published in February.
The central tasting zone in hall 2 will focus on Fashionable and Leading Varieties in International Wine Cultivation, with eight white and eight red wines in the spotlight. The whites are Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Blanc as well as Grüner Veltliner, Viognier and Verdejo. The red wines are Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Grenache, Sangiovese, Tempranillo/Tinta Roriz and Blaufränkisch/Lemberger.
Organic wines will also have their own dedicated tasting zone. Newcomers to the fair include a Tunisian stand and one from English Wine Producers.
