The Port Wine Institute has reported a 6% increase in total Port shipped to the UK in 2012, despite difficult economic conditions, according to Symington Family Estates.

Over one million cases of Port were shipped to the UK last year, with a notable and significant increase in the sales of premium Ports to the UK in 2012 (+19%), which is encouraging for Port farmers and producers.

Premium Ports now account for 59% of all UK Port shipments. The Symington family, with its Graham's, Cockburn's, Dow's and Warre's Ports, says it will continue every effort to develop Port sales in the UK.
