Food and drink writer Mark Douglas Hill is to launch a British vodka in a refillable package.

Element 29 is named after copper, the 29th element in the periodic table, and it will launch exclusively at Selfridges.

Customers will be able to refill empty bottles with either Element 29 or Element 29 Dark Caramel and Sea Salt vodka from a large tower in the store.

Element 29 is the second drinks project from Hill who also created Bloodshot Vodka, for Bloody Marys.

Element 29 is made from winter wheat grown in East Anglia and it is distilled seven times in a column still, followed by a final distillation in a copper pot still at Langley distillery in the Black Country. It is cut to strength (40%abv) with spring water that flows through the Weald of Sussex.

The RRP is £31.99 for the vodka, £22.99 for the refill and £35.99 for the salted caramel variant.
