Online retailer Naked Wines has been ranked in the Sunday Times Top 100 list as the 14th Best Small Company to Work For in the UK in 2013.
The customer-funded online wine business founded by former Virgin Wines and Virgin Money chief executive Rowan Gormley just over four years ago, has also been awarded a Three Star Accreditation by Best Companies, as demonstrating an "extraordinary focus on workplace engagement as an integral component of an organisation's success and growth".
Gormley said: "Everyone's beaming from ear to ear. It's a real honour to make the Sunday Times list and testament to the fantastic team spirit and work ethic. We've created a unique business model, funding some of the world's most talented winemakers, and the team is proud to be a part of it. We'll definitely be knocking off early at the end of the week."
Naked Wines employs 60 staff in its Norwich office and ships an average of 20,000 bottles a day to its 120,000 members, who invest over £2 million a month towards future orders.
Restaurant Hawksmoor made its first appearance in the main list and was rated the fifth best company in the UK to work for.
"We try incredibly hard to be a great place to work and to help people build careers in an industry often known for short-term employment, high staff turnover and low pay. The reality is different - this is an amazing industry to work in and we're unbelievably proud to be the highest ranked hospitality company in the list. There's still plenty more we can do and hopefully we can keep improving." said Will Beckett, co-owner of Hawksmoor.
The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists has been derived from entries of 896 organisations and has surveyed over 240,000 employees to carry out an evaluation of each company's key statistics, processes and policies.
