Distributor Hi-Spirits has appointed cocktail expert and former bar manager Chris Deacon as field sales executive in Scotland.

Deacon's brief is to build sales of spirit brands including Buffalo Trace bourbon, Antica sambuca and Fireball cinnamon liqueur. He will work with bar operators to win new listings, develop cocktails and signature serves for High-Spirits' brands.

Deacon previous worked as bar manager at Tigerlily in Edinburgh where he oversaw the development of the bar areas during a £180,000 refurbishment and created its cocktail menu. He has also managed bars in Australia and New Zealand, as well as Edinburgh venues Tempus and Voodoo Rooms.

Deacon regularly competes in cocktail competitions and made the finals of global cocktail competition World Class in Moscow.

"My operational experience gives me a strong understanding of the support bartenders need from a spirits supplier," he said.

Jeremy Hill, chairman of Hi-Spirits, said: "We're delighted to welcome Chris to the business. His passion for high quality spirits drinks and service, combined with his knowledge of the Scottish bar scene, will be huge assets for Hi-Spirits as we continue to expand our distribution."
