Local Wine School is joining forces with The Tasting Quarter, a London-based specialist in high-end corporate tasting events, to offer a combined wine education and entertainment offer to companies and individuals in the US.
Chris Powell, founder of Local Wine School, said: "Tasting Quarter with its impressive client list including Google, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan & Virgin Atlantic, combined with its hugely entertaining corporate wine events is a natural choice as a partner for us, with all kinds of synergies that will help us rapidly establish a credible base in the US."
Tasting Quarter managing director, Pip Martin, said: "The combination of Local Wine School's consumer and trade courses with our well established corporate event formats will make for a very powerful offering in major US cities. We look forward to working with Localwineschool's well developed network of franchised wine schools."
The duo will be giving a series of presentations in New York to a selection of interested candidates at the British Consulate between May 3 and May 7.
Powell said he also sold his own Newcastle Wine School which he founded 15 years ago at the start of the Local Wine School programme. "Whilst it will be a bit sad to let go of the reins at Newcastle, and I will miss meeting & tasting wine with all my local customers, it is a very exciting time and I am looking forward to developing the Wine School network both in the UK and further afield."
There are 13 Local Wine Schools currently across the UK.
