Wine lovers find their match online

Single wine lovers can find their ideal match by drinking from a new French wine range.

Prospective daters buy a 3 bottle of wine containing a code printed on the back label.

They enter the code onto the Soif du Coeur (Thirsty Heart) website, which will then match them up with a potential partner and fellow wine lover.

The project has been launched by two Bordeaux-based wine wholesalers, Omnivins and Chateau en Bordeaux, to promote the Vins de Pays de l'Atlantique range.

Vinexpo

The website will officially be launched at Vinexpo 2007 in June, but 350,000 bottles of Soif du Coeur wine have been sold to participating supermarkets in the traditional pink for girls and blue for boys colour as a trial.

Soif du Coeur is available in three styles: a Merlot/Cabernet red, Cabernet/Merlot ros and Sauvignon-smillon.

Launches in America, Canada and Russia are being negotiated. The UK will be targeted at Vinexpo.

Pierre Jean Larraqu, Soif du Coeur director said the website has so far, had 90 visitors per day since the trial began in March. On average ten people are registering per day.
