En primeur website opens

A new online wine merchant will offer en primeur wines in a mixed case format, starting with the 2007 vintage.

The site, www.shareacase.com, has been founded by Roland McCormack, managing director of Bristol and West Mortgages.

Wine writer and shareholder, Charles Metcalfe, told Harpers: "There was a time when people could buy a case of wine, drink half, wait for half to appreciate and sell it to fund the next case. That doesn't happen now because to get the level of appreciation you need you have to buy a very top wine."

He added: "Shareacase gives the opportunity to purchase top wines, and balance the case with more reasonably priced ones."

Ah cool. Reminds me of http://www.laithwaites.co.uk/. I like Laithwaites because you can get mixed cases and normal cases.
