Silvester Stallone to front russian vodka ad campaign

Russian vodka producer Synergy has signed a one year advertising contract with Silvester Stallone.
The Hollywood actor, who has Russian roots and whose character in the film Rambo killed Soviet troops in Afghanistan, will front a campaign for its Russky Lyod (Russian Ice) brand which kicks off on September 1.
A print, TV, online and indoor ad campaign will run across Russia carrying the strapline ‘there is something Russian in everyone.'
"By inviting one of the most popular movie stars such as Silvester Stallone to take part in Russky Lyod advertising campaign, we set a precedent not only for the distilled spirits sector but for the whole Russian advertising market. We are confident that the new campaign will enhance the brand's recognisability and propel it to the top of the sub-premium segment," said Synergy's marketing director, Oleg Yasenov.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. BBDO Russia developed the campaign creative.
