The Absolut Company has announced a new management team following its acquisition by Pernod Ricard last month.

Former president of V&S Absolut Spirits, the name for the Absolut Company before the buy-out, has stepped into the role of CEO. Ketil Eriksen had been president of the V&S Absolut Spirits business area since 2005, and was previously general manager within Colgate-Palmolive.

"It's an honor to continue to be entrusted with the leadership of ABSOLUT vODKA, and it feels like an acknowledgment that the strategy we followed in the past years has been a success. With an industrial owner like Pernod Ricard, and with access to their exceptional distribution network in 70 countries, we have all the prerequisites to continue our strong growth," said Eriksen.

A number of other former employees of V&S Absolut Spirits have also joined the new management team, including Matthias Aeppli, who joins as vice president of marketing and Andreas Berggren who joins as vice president of commercial.

The Absolut Company was acquired by Pernod Ricard from the Swedish state on 24 July. Its global head office is based in Stockholm. Production continues to be concentrated to Åhus in southern Sweden
