Virgin Wines to push Chilean range online

Virgin Wines is launching a section dedicated to Chile and Chilean wine on its website.

Over the course of the next five weeks, the online wine retailer will run a series of Chilean promotions, a competition for four people to win a trip to the country and up to 30% off Chilean wine.

The wine retailer has developed solid links with a number of Chilean winemakers in recent years. Chile has become a key driver of the company's business and in the last year contributed to 25% of the company's total wine sales. In the lead up to Christmas 2007 it was the company's top selling country.

Paul Adams, marketing director at Virgin Wines, said: "Chile has become a really important country for us. It is producing a fantastic range of top quality wines and the relatively weak dollar exchange rate means that it currently offers excellent value for money. This is the second year running that we have decided to launch our Chile season. It is a fantastic way to celebrate the best that our winemakers and the country have to offer."
