Thresher Group is opening 15 new stores in the run up to Christmas.

The drinks retailer will open five new Wine Rack stores and 10 The Local stores before December. The group is also set open 40 new forecourts at BP Connect and BP Express outlets in the same period, adding to its existing 230.

Thresher Group trading director, Lloyd Stephens, said: "We will have five new Wine Rack and 10 new The Local stores open by the year end - this is great news for our existing and new customers, as well as offering significant growth opportunities for our key suppliers."

The stores will be fitted to the new shop designs that were unveiled in March this year.
