Scottish-based pub management company CMC Management has gone into liquidation, leaving around 100 people without jobs.

The Grangemouth-based firm has announced the closure of 15 pubs across the country. Crawford Mitchell and Gary Colton, CMC Management's directors, told the Scotsman newspaper that the credit crunch and a downturn in trade had made it "impossible" for the pubs to continue trading.

Liquidation was granted by Falkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
