BB&R Spirits has announced that The Glenrothes will be represented by The Edrington Group's distribution network in global travel retail from mid-October.

The change in distribution coincides with the October launch at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes of The Glenrothes Robur Reserve, an addition to its award-winning range developed exclusively for travel retail.

All travel retail territories globally are covered by the agreement with the exception of Greece, India, UAE, Korea, Turkey, South America, the Caribbean, US Forces/AAFES and Canada.

Peter Davie, commercial director for BB&R Spirits, said: "Global Travel Retail provides a very exciting opportunity for the world's fastest growing single malt (according to the International Wine & Spirit Record). However, to make the most of it, The Glenrothes needs a dedicated and professional team to manage it. I am confident that The Edrington Group is the right partner for us."

Keith Bonnington, travel retail manager of The Edrington Group, added: "As with the rest of our portfolio of core international brands, distribution of The Glenrothes will be handled by Maxxium Global Travel Retail.

"The Glenrothes is already highly sought after in Global Travel Retail as shown by its strong growth. We have in place a team of professionals with a great track record of growing distribution and sales for our premium malts. They will build on this demand and make the most of the opportunity for The Glenrothes, especially in view of the launch of the duty free exclusive Robur Reserve."
