Marks & Spencer has opened a flagship store in Shanghai, the retailer's first in mainland China.

The 40,000 square foot store, it's largest in Asia, includes a full wine shop alongside fashion, home and grocery sections. The company says that its food and wine range, which includes over 1,000 lines in total, makes it one of the "widest ranges" of any international M&S store.

The company said it sees China as "an exciting long-term opportunity".
