InBev names North American leadership team

InBev has lined up two new leaders who will play key roles when it merges with Anheuser-Busch group later this year.

David Peacock will oversee US operations and management of the brewer's Budweiser and Bud Light brands, and Luiz Fernando Edmond will lead the company's North American operations, when InBev acquires Anheuser-Busch to form the world's largest brewery.

Edmond, who currently works as the company's president of Latin America North, will oversee operations for Anheuser-Busch InBev - the name of the combined company - in the US and Canada.

Peacock, who joined Anheuser-Busch in 1992, is currently its vice president of marketing.

Both will assume their new roles when the $52 billion (£29 million) merger completes, which InBev says is expected to happen before the end of the year after shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favour last month. Both will be based in St. Louis, which will be the North American headquarters for the combined company.
