PLB Group has appointed former managing director of Paragon Vintners, Tony Dee, to the position of non-executive director.

Dee has been brought on board to work with PLB's recently expanded wholesale division to further build the on-trade side of the business.

"Looking beyond the current recession, PLB is structuring itself to play a far more active role in the on-trade than we have thus far," said PLB's managing director, Peter Darbyshire. "Tony brings with him a wealth of experience in this sector and his knowledge will really help us achieve our goals."

Dee was one of the co-founders of Paragon Vintners when it was set up in 1990. His 18 years at the helm saw him take direct control of all buying and marketing functions and develop a broad portfolio of pedigree products.

Prior to establishing Paragon, Dee spent 20 years with Hedges & Butler - at the time one of the leading drinks businesses in the UK.
