Nicolas appoints new wine buyer

French owned high street retailer Nicolas has appointed Antoine Delafarge to work as a wine buyer alongside chief buyer Alain Favereau.

Antoine, who joins from French wine negociant Friedrich, where he was based for two years, is a trained winemaker and has also worked for wineries in both Bordeaux and Australia.

Antoine also sharies ownership of a vineyard with his father in Mentou Salon in the Val de Loire.

Antoine will be responsible for working on the buying for all of the Nicolas range, but will be particularly focusing on the wines destined to the UK market.

Nicolas' managing director, Eudes Morgan, said: "We have already seen what Antoine is capable of in his role as a buying consultant; that is why we are delighted he has accepted our offer, he will be a great asset to Nicolas."
