Anheuser-Busch Inbev has agreed to sell its Inbev USA subsidiary to the private equity group KPS Capital Partners.

Inbev USA trades as Labatt USA and imports Inbev's Labatt Canadian lager into the US market.

The deal includes a licence to brew, distribute and market Labatt-branded beer in the US for sole consumption in that market.

Inbev's Labatt subsidiary in Canada is entering into a transitional supply agreement to brew and supply Labatt USA for up to three years, after which KPS will be responsible for production.

The deal satisfies conditions imposed by the US Department of Justice in connection with Inbev's acquisition of Anheuser-Busch last year.

No other Inbev brands are included in the deal.
