Promoting quality Moldovan wines is the focus of a new UK business. Imperia UK - formed by Tomas Lankutis - has secured a portfolio of imports from the country. Lankutis says that the new imports have already received a warm reception. One of the first companies to accept delivery of the Moldovan wines will be John Gordons, a wine merchant from Cheltenham. Owner Gordon Duff says: "I look to offer my customers something different, a little unusual. With Moldovan wines I can recommend something new - they are decent, drinkable wines which have a fascinating history. They have been overlooked for far too long". Moldova has a rich history of wine production dating back to the 8th century BC. At present Imperia UK has a small portfolio of what it describes as the best of Moldovan wine.
